Is your Living Room screaming out for a change around? Not sure what items you could get that may help spruce up the living space? Well, we have selected 5 must-have decor items that you can use to style and refresh your living room or any space within your home.

It’s always nice to have a change around in a space that we spend a lot of time.

But it can often be a struggle as to what to purchase, where to find specific items or even how to place it in the space that we are decorating. The 5 decor items we love are:

Lamps

lamps, lamps and more lamps! It is amazing how placing one or two lamps within a room creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere. Table lamps are our favourite, and you can find, affordable and stylish table lamps in many online and home decor shops including Amazon, Spotlight and Kmart.

This blue coastal glass table lamp has caught our eye from Amazon – go check it out – it looks amazing! It’s contemporary and elegant style would look fabulous on any side table.

The swift modern table lamp is also a winner in our books. It is a mercury glass table lamp from the Possini euro design brand and would look stunning on a bedside table.

Lamps can be placed on any side table in a living room or perhaps on a long bench table that is pressed up against the back of a sofa.

Just make sure you are close to electrical sockets, and if you find you have cords running everywhere, a simple mat can be placed over them to hide them.

Single Recliner Chair

Do you have an empty corner in your room that is too small for a couch but perhaps perfect for a single chair?

We love the idea of a small space set up with a super comfortable recliner chair, add a throw blanket or a cushion and a standing lamp as in the image above.

Often all it takes is a single slimline chair to turn that awkward “don’t know what to do with” space into a super cosy chill-out spot!

Throws & Cushions

What is not to love about soft throw rugs and cushions!! Decide what colour palate you are looking for and visit any of your nearest home decor shops, or my favourite Kmart, and invest in a couple of super soft and cosy throws and luxury cushions to add to your lounge suite.

It is amazing how adding a few accessories to a living space can change the entire atmosphere.

Candles

We think it pays to invest a little bit of extra money when it comes to candles, especially scented ones!

We find that if we buy a decent candle it will last longer and the scent it provides is much stronger and delicious!!

Our go-to candles at the moment are from Living Light Candles with our favourites been the pinot noir and white lily and well ALL of them!!!

Another great brand is Yankee Candles. They make candles with the most amazing scents to suit all seasons and its no wonder they are America’s favourite brand of premium candles!

Tall Floor Vase

A tall floor vase is another item that can go in an ‘awkward’ space in a living room. A space that is too small for a sofa or recliner but a bit too large that it looks bare!

Our favourite pick is a classic mahogany bamboo floor vase. This is a Large floor vase handcrafted from natural spun bamboo offered in 2 sizes and 3 colours.
